Intro to Yoni Eggs
Yoni is the Sanskrit word for the Vagina, which means “sacred place.”
Yoni Eggs are professionally handcrafted crystals in the shape of an egg, specially designed to be inserted into the yoni. This practice can be traced back thousands of years and has many different delightful benefits.
- Pussy Strengthening/Kegels
One of the more known benefits is yoni strengthening. Because the yoni is one large muscle, working out those muscles by repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles (Kegels) will strengthened the pelvic floor. A strong pelvic floor allows the woman to have more control and grip during intercourse.
- Stronger Orgasms
- Increase vaginal moisture
- Increase pelvic and reproductive heath
Having a strong pelvic floor goes beyond sexual pleasure. Pelvic muscles are responsible for urine flow and help your pelvic organs stay healthy and in place. Child birth and age is one of the common causes of pelvic weakness. The pelvic floor muscles are what support the uterus, bladder, small intestines, and rectum, so it’s important that we keep it healthy.
- Spiritual Healing
Yoni Eggs are crafted from different crystals. Crystals are from the Earth and contain a mineral called silicon not only found in the crystal, but the human body as well. It has been scientifically proven that crystals are energetically and consciously aware, so different crystals have their own unique vibration healing properties. With these findings, yoni eggs are known for healing past sexual trauma and negative experience, sexual shame, post childbirth issues, painful menstrual cycles, and other emotional issues.
Yoni Eggs are typically made in sizes small, medium, and large. On average, women starting out normally use a medium egg first, as we recommend. Small eggs are for women with advanced control of her pelvic muscles and have the ability to secure the egg in her yoni without it falling out. The large eggs are good for women with several kids, and may need more muscle work. Medium is what most women prefer and our personal pick as well for women starting out.
Drilled or undrilled Yoni Eggs
We prefer undrilled yoni eggs because it’s easier to clean and we believe the experience is more natural when you trust and allow your connection with the egg to come out naturally. The majority of our eggs are undrilled eggs.
Cleansing your Yoni Egg
Upon receiving the egg in the mail, take some mild soap and clean the egg in your hand, and then rinse it off. Pour really hot water (not boiling) on the egg and let it soak for about 3 minutes. Pour the water out and dry it off with a clean rag.
*after the first use, soap isn’t needed to cleanse the egg. Just let it soak in hot water for about 5 minutes after each use. *
Also, cleanse the energy of the egg with a sage stick if you have one.
Connecting with your egg
Before inserting the egg into your yoni, you want to create a connection with your egg. We’ve already established that yoni eggs (made of crystals) have their own energetic and vibrational consciousness. Upon contact with your skin, energy is transmitted between you and the crystal, creating the power.
Sleep with your egg by placing it under your pillow at night and/or place it in your underwear so it can have closer contact with your yoni without inserting it.
Meditate with it
Simply carry it with you though out the day
Inserting the egg
You’ve already connected with your egg and it’s been cleaned. Either lay down or prop your leg on your bed, or somewhere else. Take a few deep breaths and push the egg in with your finger, inserting the wider end in first. Use your yoni muscles to naturally suck your egg into your canal.
Removing the egg
We believe the egg is doing its work and will come out when it’s ready. However, some women want more control over how long the egg stays in at a time. Swat and use your pelvic muscles to push it out. If that doesn’t work, you can swat or prop up your leg and remove it with your finger.
*Some eggs have small drilled holes so you can add a string and the egg can be gently pulled out.
How long can I keep it in?
There is no right or wrong answer. Listen to your yoni. Pay attention to how natural your yoni keeps the egg inside. The egg will come out when it’s ready. Some women keep their egg in for up to 24 hours, leading an entire day of activities. Many women like to keep it in a few hours throughout the day or overnight. Women are also known for leaving it in for a few days.
Storing the egg
Your egg is sacred to you and your yoni, so treat it that way. Put it in a cool safe place, preferably in natural light. A few times a month, we recommend sitting the egg outside during the day and/or night to receive energy from the Sun and Moon, restoring its natural energy. Placing the egg in a window will work too.
- Lay down in a comfortable position with your legs straight and relax. While taking deep breaths, focus on your yoni and what you’re feeling. This creates awareness.
- Lay down at the edge of your bed with your feet flat on the ground. With your legs comfortably open, take a long breath in while squeezing in your yoni muscles. As you release your breath, slowly relax your muscles. Repeat as you like.
- While standing, laying down, or doing whatever squeeze and release your yoni muscles 5 times. On the fifth time, hold the squeeze for five seconds, then release.
